11. COOKIES, DEVICE STORAGE AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

11.1. We (and third parties acting on our behalf) store, access and collect information directly or indirectly on or from your devices, including by placing, accessing or recognising cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) on your device or browser.

11.2. We use these technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies - session, authentication and security (CSRF) cookies that are required for the website to function and for you to stay logged in;
  • Preference storage - localStorage entries that remember settings such as interface preferences and player state;
  • Analytics - cookies and similar identifiers set by PostHog, our analytics provider, to understand how the website and service are used (see the Analytics section above);
  • Payments - cookies set by Stripe, our payment processor, for checkout and fraud prevention.

11.3. You can block or delete cookies and clear localStorage at any time through your browser settings. Essential cookies cannot be disabled while using the logged-in areas of the service, as the service cannot function without them.

12. YOUTUBE API SERVICES

12.1. StreamChat AI uses YouTube API Services to provide its YouTube features, including the live chat assistant, song requests and clip uploads. By connecting your YouTube account to StreamChat AI, you also agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

12.2. Google's handling of information collected through YouTube API Services is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

12.3. When you link your YouTube channel, we access and store the following data through YouTube API Services:

  • Your YouTube channel ID and channel name, so we can identify the channel you have connected;
  • OAuth tokens that allow StreamChat AI to act on your channel on your behalf (these are stored encrypted);
  • Live chat messages from your own active live broadcasts, which are processed in real time so the bot can respond in your chat and power features such as commands and giveaways;
  • The contents of playlists that you configure for the song request feature;
  • Video metadata for clips that you explicitly choose to upload to your own channel.

12.4. We only access YouTube data for channels that have been explicitly connected by their owner. We do not sell YouTube API data, do not use it for advertising, and do not share it with third parties except as necessary to provide the service. Live chat messages from your broadcasts are processed in real time and are stored so that the features you have enabled keep working, including viewer profiles, chat streaks and stream summaries; cached playlist data is refreshed at least every few hours; and your YouTube connection, including the access tokens and channel details we hold, is deleted when you disconnect your account.

12.5. You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from your StreamChat AI dashboard, which stops all further API access. You can also revoke StreamChat AI's access to your Google account via the Google security settings page. Disconnecting removes the access tokens and channel details we hold. To have the rest of your stored YouTube data deleted, including chat messages we have recorded from your broadcasts, contact us at support@streamchatai.com and we will remove it.

13. AI MODELS AND YOUR CONTENT

13.1. StreamChat AI is an AI service, so generating a reply, a voice line or an image means sending content to an AI provider on your behalf. Depending on the features you have enabled, that content may include chat messages from your channel, the personality and memory settings you have configured, and text you have entered in your dashboard.

13.2. The AI providers we currently send content to are:

  • OpenRouter and OpenAI, for generating chat responses and other text;
  • ElevenLabs, for text-to-speech voice output;
  • DeepInfra, for image generation and other model hosting.

13.3. This list may change as we add or replace providers. We will update this policy when it does.

13.4. We do not currently use your content, your chat, or your viewers' messages to train or fine-tune AI models. If that changes, we will update this policy before any such use begins, and any content used in that way would be aggregated rather than tied to identifiable individuals, and would not include usernames. We do not sell your content or your chat data, and we do not license it to third parties for the purpose of training their AI models.

13.5. Where our AI providers offer a setting that prevents content sent to them being used to train their own models, we enable it. We cannot control what a provider does outside the terms it publishes, and we would encourage you to read the privacy terms of any AI service you use, including ours.

13.6. Chat messages from your connected channels are stored so that features you have enabled can work, including viewer profiles, chat streaks, stream summaries and clip chat logs. You can ask us to delete this data at any time by contacting us at support@streamchatai.com.

13.7. Your streaming platform may have its own, separate settings governing whether that platform uses your content to train AI models. Those settings are controlled by the platform, not by us, and we have no way to read or change them on your behalf. If AI training matters to you, check them directly in your Twitch, Kick or YouTube account settings.
